Isla Romantica: A Quick Dip

Just behind Best Western Sand Bar Resort, Isla Romantica is a small chunk of Island, more or less around 100 sqm in land area, developed and managed by an old guy named Manong Ben.

How to get there:

Take a multicab ride from the city proper of Lapu-lapu to Cordova.  The fare is Php 10.00 only.  You alight at the main town center of Cordova and arrange for a sikad to Alegria.  Fare is also at Php 10.00.  Tell the sikad driver to drop you off at the corner of Agila Resort and from there, you walk up unto the shoreline.  A small pump boat (pre-arranged) will wait for you.  Boat ride is Php 50.00 (round trip). By the way, you also have to inform Manong Ben that you would want to go there in this particular date and time.

How the name came about?  The island has no electricity hence making it a very attractive site for lovers to meet and relax or do something else during night time.   But it is during day time that you really get to enjoy as the water is very clear, you could see fishes swimming in it.  The island is also near a sanctuary area, our friend Nadine was able to ask our pump boat guide to bring us there.  Indeed there were many beautiful fishes, water was very clear and although already deep, you can still see the corals down under.

Only one hut stands on the island, people  usually bring their food and have a little picnic.  There is also one Talisay tree standing, with one table under it so the island can be enjoyed by more than a group of people.  One extra table is also available for use, should there be more people arriving.
Our trip to Isla Romantica was hassle-free as our friend, who happens to live in Cordova, arranged for our boat ride ahead and prepared for our food.  The only thing we did was to show up and enjoy the clear waters!

    2. Hello, sorry I lost contact with Manong Ben. My friend who lives near the area advised us that the little island is now polluted. Might not be a good idea to go there any longer.
